Job summary

Spectrum Healthcare Resources seeks a Dental Hygienist to join the Naval Hospital Great Lakes dental team in Waukegan, IL. You will provide preventive and therapeutic care alongside an experienced military team.

This role focuses on serving cadets and active duty Sailors with a weekday schedule, no nights or weekends, and comprehensive benefits. Responsibilities include cleanings, radiographs, periodontal therapy, health assessments, and education on preventive care.

Qualifications

• Current unrestricted Dental Hygienist license (Associates or Bachelors; CODA-accredited program)
• BLS certification through AHA or American Red Cross
• U.S. Citizenship
• Ability to complete federal credentialing, background check, and occupational health requirements
• Previous military, VA, or federal healthcare experience welcomed but not required

Responsibilities

• Perform dental cleanings and periodontal therapy
• Complete oral health assessments
• Educate patients on preventive dental care
• Take dental radiographs
• Document patient care in CHCS, AHLTA, or MHS GENESIS
• Follow infection control and sterilization protocols
• Collaborate with dentists and dental assistants to provide exceptional patient care

Qualifications

We’re looking for professionals who have:

• Current unrestricted Dental Hygienist license: Associates or Bachelors: Must be program accredited by CODA
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• U.S. Citizenship
• Ability to successfully complete federal credentialing, background investigation, and occupational health requirements
• Previous military, VA, or federal healthcare experience is welcomed but not required.
