Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program.
• Current Dental Hygienist licensure in good standing.
• 1–2 years of experience in dental hygiene preferred.
• Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and dental safety guidelines.
• Able to stand for extended periods and bend repeatedly.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients into the treatment area and make them feel comfortable.
• Discuss the dental care plan with patients and answer questions.
• Prep sterilized equipment for exams and procedures.
• Take vital signs and record medical histories.
• Perform dental cleanings and collect oral health data.
• Evaluate for gum disease, cavities, and infection; apply fluoride.
• Take x-rays and create dental impressions as needed.
• Assist dentist during procedures and exams.
• Adhere to health, safety regulations and office policies.

• Prep sterilized equipment and make it available to the dentist for exams and procedures
• Take vital signs and accurately record medical histories
• Perform preliminary exams and collect oral health histories
• Evaluate patients for signs of gum disease, cavities, and infection
• Remove plaque and apply fluoride treatments
• Teach good oral hygiene techniques
• Create dental impressions
• Take x-rays
• Assist dentist during procedures and exams
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations and office policies

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree from a school certified by the Commission on Dental Accreditation, Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferred
• Current Dental Hygienist licensure
• At least 1-2 years of experience in dental hygiene
• Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and all dentistry safety guidelines
