Job summary

Smile Bright Dental in Mahopac, NY, is seeking a dedicated Dental Hygienist to join a well-established, one-doctor practice that values patient care and a supportive team.

You will perform cleanings, chart periodontal status, educate patients on oral hygiene, and maintain Dentrix records while working Monday-Thursday 8:00 AM–5:00 PM. Local anesthesia certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of dental hygiene experience.
• Excellent communication and patient education skills.
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
• Detail-oriented and self-motivated.
• Team player committed to delivering exceptional patient care.
• Local anesthesia certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough dental cleanings, scaling, polishing, periodontal charting, and fluoride treatments.
• Review medical histories and complete patient assessments.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and preventive care.
• Schedule six-month recall appointments.
• Document treatment and maintain accurate patient records in Dentrix.
• Prepare and manage diagnostic imaging equipment.
• Collaborate with the dentist to co-diagnose and support treatment planning.
• Help create a comfortable, welcoming patient experience.

What You'll Do
