Job summary

Community Health Center Of Lubbock is seeking a Dental Hygienist to join our clinic team in Lubbock, TX. The hygienist provides dental prophylaxis and educates patients on prevention.

Hours are 8am-5pm Monday through Friday with occasional weekend/evening work; Texas licensure required. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Join a patient-centered dental team dedicated to oral health education and care.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor of Science or Associate Degree in Dental Hygiene.
• Licensure: Licensed as a Dental Hygienist in Texas.
• Experience: No prior experience required.
• Language: English; bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
• Travel: Occasional; valid Texas driver's license and auto insurance.

Shift: Day

The Dental Hygienist works as part of the dental provider team providing dental services to the patients of the Center. The Dental hygienist performs dental prophylactic services and provides educational information for the prevention and control of dental disease.

Responsibilities

• Screening patients during checkups
• Reviewing a patient's dental history
• Recommending care to improve a patient's oral health
• Teaching patients about proper teeth cleaning techniques
• Performing preventive dental care
• Applying fluoride treatments
• Taking x-rays and reviewing them for signs of dental diseases

Expertise: Basic techniques in Dental Hygiene. Ability to work with children and chronically ill

Hours of Work: 8am-5pm M-F with some weekend/evening work.
