DENTAL HYGIENIST JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Promote dental health by performing prophylaxis, oral cancer screenings, radiographs, and charting conditions in compliance with the Dental Practice Act.
• Prepare patients for treatment by welcoming, seating, and draping them.
• Provide information and answer questions from patients and staff.
• Maintain instruments by sharpening, sterilizing, and selecting them.
• Select materials and evaluate patients' oral health for hygiene visits.
• Complete prophylaxis by cleaning teeth and beneath gum margins.
• Detect disease through screenings, examinations, and radiographs.
• Arrest decay by applying fluorides and cavity-preventing agents.

DENTAL HYGIENIST JOB REQUIREMENTS
