Position Summary

The Dental Hygienist collaborates with our dentists to promote oral health, perform prophylaxis, screenings, periodontal maintenance, and assist with various responsibilities to uphold our high standards of care.

Key Responsibilities

1. Assess patient dental conditions through screening, charting, and medical history review
2. Provide direct patient care, including cleaning and polishing
3. Take vital signs and radiographs for diagnosis
4. Apply sealants and fluorides
5. Maintain electronic records and document patient information
6. Educate patients on oral health and disease prevention
7. Sterilize instruments and prepare treatment plans in coordination with the dentist
8. Communicate treatment plans and associated costs to patients
9. Articulate patient concerns to the dental team
10. Perform ancillary duties as needed

Requirements

• Reliable and punctual; must arrive by 7:45 am for an 8 am opening (hours may vary)
• Completed dental hygiene program or Associate's degree with current North Carolina Hygienist license
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Demonstrate initiative, dependability, and confidentiality
• Strong attention to detail and flexibility in work assignments
• Ability to interpret instructions and manuals
