Job summary

Avon Dental Group, located in Avon, CT, is seeking a motivated and passionate Dental Hygienist to join our team on a part-time basis. We offer competitive compensation of $40-45/hour along with flexible schedules, opportunities for mentorship, and a supportive work environment.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing hygiene procedures, educating patients on oral hygiene, and maintaining a comfortable atmosphere. New graduates are also encouraged to apply!

Qualifications

• Valid CT hygiene license and CPR certification are required.
• 1+ years of dental experience preferred, but new graduates are welcomed.
• Experience with anesthesia certification is preferred.

• Perform dental hygiene procedures including scaling and fluoride treatments.
• Communicate periodontal needs with the dentist.

Your Role as a Dental Hygienist

• Welcome patients with warmth and ensure they feel comfortable and cared for throughout their visit
• Prepare and set up treatment rooms for hygiene procedures
• Update patients' health history and educate them on proper oral hygiene techniques
• Perform scaling, root planing, fluoride treatments, and other preventive care.
• Identify periodontal and restorative needs and communicate them effectively with the dentist
• Capture and interpret digital x‑rays
• Conduct head, neck, and oral cancer screenings
• Maintain a clean, organized, and OSHA‑compliant environment
• Schedule follow‑up appointments and ensure seamless patient experiences

What We’re Looking For

• Education: Associate degree or higher from an ADA‑accredited dental hygiene program
• Licenses: Valid CT hygiene license and CPR certification
• Experience: 1+ years of dental experience preferred, but new graduates are warmly welcomed!
• Skills: Strong communication, organizational abilities, and a commitment to delivering outstanding patient care
• Certifications: Certification in anesthesia (preferred)
