Job summary

SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium seeks a licensed dental hygienist to provide age-specific preventive and therapeutic dental care in Southeast Alaska. You will perform examinations, periodontal therapy, polishing, fluoride applications, X-rays, and vitals checks, while managing appointment flow and participating in prevention events.

Required Alaska licensure with preference for Alaska State Hygiene License, plus BLS, and competencies within specified timelines.

Qualifications

• Active Dental Hygiene License in Alaska or another U.S. state.
• Alaska State Hygiene License preferred.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• BLS within 45 days of start and maintained thereafter.
• Clinical Competency required within 3 months of hire and every 3 years.
• High Risk Competency required within 3 months of hire and every year.

Responsibilities

• Provide age-specific patient education on prevention, home care and nutrition.
• Examine oral tissues, perform periodontal therapy, coronal polishing, apply fluoride; measure pockets; take x-rays; monitor vitals.
• Manage patient schedule and flow of appointments.
• Coordinate and conduct dental prevention activities (health fairs, sealant clinics, Head Start clinics).
• Maintain hygienist supplies and sterilize instruments.
