Job summary

West Coast University is seeking a Dental Hygiene instructor to lead and deliver the didactic curriculum, mentor faculty and students, and advise on academic and disciplinary matters. The role requires a CODA-accredited program background, a master’s degree with higher education coursework, and strong leadership experience.

Ideal candidates will have California RDH licensure, CPR, and a track record of at least five years of clinical practice alongside three or more years in academic leadership

Job description

As a Dental Hygiene instructor for a certified Great Place to Work, assists with providing leadership in managing and implementing a comprehensive registered dental hygienist program in support of University, campus, or department. Enables an environment that fosters creativity, responsiveness, and self-responsibility. Responsible for supporting the delivery of the didactic curriculum, faculty and student mentorship, and student academic and disciplinary advisement.

EDUCATION:

• Must be a graduate from a US Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) accredited dental hygiene program.
• Master’s or higher degree from an accredited college or university which includes course work in higher general education and/or administration required.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

• Current California Registered Dental Hygienist license.
• Current American Heart Association CPR Certification (BLS)

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:

• Must have a minimum of five (5) years of dental hygiene clinical experience.
• Minimum three (3) years prior experience in academic leadership.
• Minimum three to five year’s prior experience in teaching in higher education.
• Knowledge in technological support and delivery of educational programs and services.
• Leadership knowledge in the program field to cultivate a learner-centered environment and to foster excellence.
