Job summary

West Coast University invites applications for a faculty member to guide students in healthcare education and to influence their professional development from student to caregiver. You will maintain a teaching load, contribute to course and program assessment, and continually upgrade materials and syllabi.

Qualifications include a terminal doctorate, licensure if applicable in California, willingness to travel locally, experience with LMS, and proficiency with MS Office.

Qualifications

• Terminal doctorate required (PhD, EdD, DSc).
• Must meet accreditation standards set by relevant bodies for the program.
• Professional certifications as needed for the teaching role.
• Licensed to practice physical therapy in California (if physical therapist).
• 0–4 years of teaching in a University/College setting or prior assistant professor rank.
• Experience with online learning management systems desirable.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of applicable state/federal regulations and accreditation bodies.
• Ability to travel locally and occasionally to other campuses/locations.
• Bilingual ability is a plus but not mandatory.

Your experience includes:

• Terminal academic doctorate required (PhD, EdD, DSc).
• Must meet and maintain the qualifications and standards set forth by any accreditation body that West Coast University is accredited by or in process of obtaining accreditation from, for area of expertise and expectations of faculty member as set forth in regulatory documents.
• Must maintain any professional certifications deemed necessary to meet the requirements of the teaching role.
• Must be licensed to practice physical therapy in California (if physical therapist)
• 0-4 years of teaching in a University (or College) setting or previous rank of assistant professor awarded by a regionally accredited institution.
• Working with online learning management systems to further engage the student learning process desirable.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Products, especially Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and other MS office products as needed.
• Knowledge of state, federal and local laws/regulations relating to programs, governmental compliance and other regulatory standards such as state Board of Nursing, Commission on Dental Accreditation, state Dental Hygiene Committee, state Dental board, CAPTE (Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (if a physical therapist), WASC or other regulators and/or accreditation bodies.
• Ability to travel/drive locally on a weekly, daily and/or on an as needed basis as well as occasional travel to other campuses or locations.
• Ability to communicate using bilingual skills is a plus but not mandatory.
