Job summary

Sonrava Health is seeking a Hygiene Assistant to provide exceptional patient experiences while in the chair and support the clinical team with dental procedures and patient education.

The role emphasizes patient retention, confidentiality, and collaboration within a busy dental practice. You will assist doctors and hygienists, maintain equipment, and help manage scheduling and referrals in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current radiography certification required.
• Active Dental Assistant license as required by state.
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred.
• Ability to obtain nitrous oxide/oxygen analgesia certification as required by state.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service with chair-side manner and teamwork.
• Assist the doctor and hygienist with dental procedures and maintain patient service quality.
• Review patient charts prior to arrival and document health history and consent.
• Perform Four Handed Dentistry tasks: temporary crowns, rubber dam, restorations, seating prosthodontics.
• Take, develop and mount radiographs and intra-oral photos.
• Sterilize and prepare equipment and operatory before/after appointments.
• Track lab cases and order dental supplies.
• Maintain patient confidentiality per HIPAA; comply with OSHA and BBP policies.
• Educate patients and address questions for comfort and trust.
• Assist admin team with scheduling and referrals as needed.
• Learn new computer programs and practice software.
