Job summary

Columbus Technical College seeks a part-time adjunct for the Dental Hygiene Program. The instructor will evaluate student progress, ensure safety, maintain documentation, and contribute to accreditation activities.

This position is part-time/exempt and may involve travel or teaching off-campus within our service area. Ideal candidates will have a GA dental hygiene license/teaching license, a CODA-accredited degree, CPR certification, and at least three years of clinical experience.

Qualifications

• Current Georgia Dental Hygiene State License or Georgia Dental Hygiene Teaching License
• Bachelor’s or higher in dental hygiene or related field
• Graduate of CODA-accredited program
• Current CPR certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Minimum of three years of clinical experience as a hygienist
• Ability to teach dental hygiene didactic, clinical, and laboratory courses
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Proficient with current computer applications

Responsibilities

• Instruct students in the Dental Hygiene Program
• Develop course outlines and objectives per state standards
• Maintain knowledge of the CODA accrediting body
• Maintain student records and attendance
• Evaluate student progress in competency areas
• Meet with students and staff to discuss instructional programs
• Ensure safety and security in training areas
• Maintain program certification requirements
• Demonstrate time management and organization skills

Education

Bachelor's degree in dental hygiene or related field

CODA-accredited program graduate

Current CPR certification (American Heart Association)

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Proficient with computer applications
