Job summary

Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians is seeking a Dentist Supervisor to provide direct delivery of dental care and to supervise the dental clinic at the St. Ignace Tribal Health Center Dental Clinic or Manistique Tribal Center Dental clinic.

The role includes supervising staff, handling budgets, and ensuring regulatory compliance with IHS and OSHA standards. The successful candidate will hold a DDS or DMD, obtain Michigan licensure (DEA) within 90 days, and undergo background and drug

Qualifications

• Education: Doctor of Dental Science (DDS) or Doctor of Medical Dentistry (DMD) degree is required within 90 days of hire.
• Must obtain Michigan Dental License (and DEA) and be licensed in Michigan within 90 days of hire.
• Background check and pre-employment drug testing are required.
• Must develop knowledge of IHS Dental Guidelines, OSHA regulations and stay current with standards of care.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct dental care at St. Ignace or Manistique Health Center locations.
• Supervise the dental clinic staff and oversee operations to ensure quality care.
• Input on budgets and prepare summary reports for administration.
• Interview, select, orient and train dental staff; evaluate performance.
• Coordinate referrals to specialty and general dentistry and manage CHD referrals.
