Job Description

The Forsyth School of Dental Hygiene (FSDH) is excited to announce the potential expansion to its MCPHS campus in Manchester, NH on July 1, 2027. The Forsyth School of Dental Hygiene seeks a dental clinic manager to overseethe daily operations of the dental hygiene clinic, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant clinical services. The role manages supplies, equipment, sterilization and infection control processes, regulatory documentation, student clinical resources, and emergency preparedness while supporting faculty, students, and clinic operations. This position is contingent upon the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) approval of the proposed program expansion. A decision on approval from CODA for this expansion is anticipated in March of 2027.

  • Orders, receives, andmaintainsall clinical and laboratory supplies with approval from the Dean, taking advantage of vendor promotions and ensuring supplies are stored safely and organized efficiently.
  • Monitorsandmaintainssupply inventories andpreparesannual inventory reports documenting supply usage.
  • Maintainsan up-to-date Excel spreadsheet of all purchase orders organized by budget code.
  • Reviewspacking slips for accuracy,maintainsinvoice records, and submitsinvoices for payment approval.
  • Overseesordering and distribution of student instrument kits.
  • Coordinatesmeetings with the Dean, Associate Deans, Clinic Coordinators, and vendorsregardingthe selection of instruments, materials, and supplies for student kits.
  • CoordinatestheADEXlicensure examination process for graduating students.
  • Managesequipment repairs, service requests, inspections, warranties, and replacement schedules.
  • Schedulesand overseespreventative maintenance for all clinical units and equipment.
  • Workscloselywith MCPHS Facilities tosubmitand monitor work orders and ensuretimelyresolution of clinic-related issues.
  • Respondspromptly to dailyequipmentmalfunctions and operational concerns within the clinic.
  • Conductsproper sterilization protocols andmonitoring, includingdocumentation ofbiologicalmonitoring ofsterilizers,andmaintainsall associated records and logs.
  • Maintainsall clinic logs required by the Department of Public Health (DPH), University policies, and accreditation standards.
  • MaintainsSafety Data Sheets (SDS)documentation and ensurescompliance with safety regulations.
  • Monitorsand enforcesinfection control procedures throughout the clinic.
  • Preparesclinic supplies and materials for faculty and student useprior toand duringclinical sessions.
  • Trainsfaculty and students on proper equipment operation, sterilization procedures, infection control protocols, and clinic safety practices.
  • Disinfectsand sterilizesstudent instrument cassettes and handpieces followingand duringclinical sessions.
  • Evaluatesstudents’participation inclinicalaiderotations.
  • Works with studentsand faculty providing operational support as needed.
  • Hires, trains,schedules, and superviseswork-study students.
  • Maintainsemergency carts, including supplies, oxygen, medications, and related documentation.
  • Coordinatesmedical emergency reviews, drills, and preparedness activities with Clinic Coordinators and faculty.
  • Understandsand implementsemergency response protocols andassistsduringdrills and actual emergency situations.
  • Distributes, collects, andcoordinatesprocessing of radiation monitoring badges in collaboration with the Environmental Waste Officer.
  • Arrangesfor proper handling, transportation, and disposal of hazardous and regulated waste.
  • Providesfront desk coverage and operational support as needed.
  • Assistswithcommunity outreach programs and ensuresappropriate suppliesand materials are available for outreach activities.
  • Collaborateswith faculty, staff, vendors, and administrators to ensure the efficient, safe, compliant, and effective operation of all clinical and laboratory activities.
  • Assistswith the setup and preparation of the clinic hosting the ADEXclinical examination.
  • Meetswith sales representatives andmaintainsprofessional relationships.
  • Attendsprogram meetings asrequired.
  • Assistswith printing, proctoring tests, and runningGradescoperesults for faculty.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements

Required:

  • Two to five years’ experience in a dental setting.
  • Dental assistant preferred.
  • Certification in CPR Healthcare Provider.
  • Training in infection-control protocols and OSHA compliance.
  • Experience working in a dental /medical office or clinic.
  • Familiarity using dental office computer software programs.

Physical Requirements:

  • Standing, sitting, manual dexterity, ability to move between offices and floors of buildings,
  • Ability to meet deadlines and perform well under pressure.
  • Ability to be physically in attendance at designated worksite during scheduled work hours and to work some evenings and weekends.
  • Normal range of vision and hearing (with or without correction).
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
