Job summary

Sea Mar Community Health Centers in Federal Way is seeking an On-Call Dental Assistant for our dental clinic. You will assist the provider across restorative, prosthodontics, endodontics, orthodontics and oral surgery procedures, and help with MSDS records and supply inventory.

Qualified candidates have a WA State license, BLS certification, and prior dental record experience. English proficiency is required; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus. Training new staff and scheduling may be involved.

Qualifications

• Must have WA State license and BLS certification.
• Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program required.
• Experience with dental records and computer systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dental provider in Restorative, Prosthodontics, Endodontics, Orthodontics, Oral Surgery procedures.

We are recruiting for the following position:Sea Mar is a mandatory COVID-19 and flu vaccine organizationOn-call Dental Assistant position available for our Federal Way Dental Clinic. Candidate will assist the dental provider in the delivery of dental procedures allowed by the WA State Dental Practice Act. Other responsibilities are as follows: assist provider in Restorative, Prosthodontics, Endodontics, Orthodontics, Oral Surgeryprocedures, and any other procedures allowed by the WA Dental Practice Act. Major duties for Dental Assistants include maintaining proper records for material safety data sheets (MSDS), spore test, inventory of dental supplies. In addition, will also assist in training new Dental Assistants and organizing schedules to generate check lists formaintenance of dental procedures. Candidates who have previous orthoexperience are preferred. QUALIFICATIONS AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Applicant must have a valid WA State license, basic life support (BLS) certification, organizational skills, dental record experience and familiarity with the utilization of computers. Excellent customer service skills required for this position. Must be able to communicate, read and write in English and have the ability to interpret common written material about dentistry. Preferred bilingual in English/Spanish. As a DENTAL ASSISTANT II, applicant must have completed a formal Dental Assistant program at a College, Technical Institute orequivalent. A minimum of 6 months of work experience is required. Employee with no formal training must have a minimum of 18 months of work experience in a Dental Assistant position. As a DENTAL ASSISTANT III, applicant must be knowledgeable of theproper sterilization methods and OSHA regulations including QI. Able to duplicate and mount radiographs, place temporary restorations, take impressions, pour and trim models, place retraction cord, place matrix bands, perform coronal polish and give fluoride treatments. Applicantmust have 2 years working experience.
