MetroED seeks a Dental Assisting Teacher to prepare students for entry-level employment in the dental field. The instructor will develop skills and knowledge while utilizing equipment effectively. The position requires a minimum of three years teaching experience and a CTE credential. Benefits include paid health insurance, retirement in STRS, and annual salary stipends based on degrees held.
Metropolitan Education District (MetroED) is a regional provider of Career Technical Education (CTE) and Adult Education. As the largest organization of its kind in Santa Clara County, we are dedicated to offering career-oriented education to both high school and adult students. Annually, MetroED provides 2,600 diverse students with the skills to help them be productive, income-earning, and tax-paying contributors to Silicon Valley.MetroED collaborates with designated districts to provide comprehensive educational opportunities for adults and high school students. Through our Silicon Valley Career Technical Education program, we offer career technical education to high school students and, on a space-available basis, to adult students in the following districts: Campbell Union High School District, East Side Union High School District, Los Gatos-Saratoga Union High School District, Milpitas Unified School District, San Jose Unified School District, and Santa Clara Unified School District.Additionally, our Silicon Valley Adult Education provides courses for the San Jose Unified School District.
Under the direction of the SVCTE Principal or designee, and with appropriate support, the teacher is responsible for instruction, training and career preparation that will prepare the student for entry-level employment specifically in the career pathway of Dental Assisting. The course will provide students with the opportunity to learn entry-level skills in the field of Dental Assisting. The instructor will be responsible for developing student skills, knowledge and attitudes commensurate with the goals of the program and for effectively using equipment to meet goals. Performs other related work as required. This is an exempt position.
• A minimum of three (3) years of successful teaching experience is desirable but not necessary, preferably in Career Technical Education and/or Regional Occupational Programs (ROP)• Experience working with industry specific field educational programs, and/or site supervising and managing CTE instructional programs is desired• Minimum of three (3) years of industry experience• Must have, or be willing to obtain, a CTE Teaching credential
