Long Wharf Dental Group in New Haven, CT is seeking a Dental Assistant to support our clinical team with top-tier patient care in a team-based environment. Responsibilities include room preparation, instrument sterilization, and assisting dentists during procedures, along with patient education on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.

The role requires 2 years of on-the-job experience, X-Ray certification (preferred), and Nitrous Oxide certification is highly recommended.

Qualifications

• 2 years on-the-job experience required.
• X-Ray certification preferred.
• Nitrous Oxide certification highly recommended.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR and infection-control training as required by law.

Responsibilities

• Clinical support: prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, assist dentists.
• Patient care: welcome, educate, and comfort patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Radiography & diagnostics: take/develop X-rays, assist with impressions and study models.
• Compliance & safety: maintain infection control, protect patient confidentiality, follow regulations.
• Maintain accurate patient records and scheduling/patient intake as needed; assist with emergencies.
