Job summary

Children's Dental Health in Wilmington, DE is seeking a passionate X-ray certified Dental Assistant to join our close-knit team, delivering top-notch dental care and comforting, patient-centered service.

You will assist the dentist, prepare and sterilize instruments, take X-rays, maintain records, and provide excellent care. A calm demeanor and rapport with young patients is highly valued, as is flexibility to travel to other locations if needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• 6 months of Dental Assistant experience with x-ray certification OR 1 year of direct dental assisting experience without x-ray certification, but must obtain certification within 90 days of employment
• Knowledge of OSHA and HIPA policies
• Customer Service Experience – Friendly and helpful demeanor with patients and co-workers.
• Flexibility – Must adapt easily to changing conditions and work responsibilities.
• Ability to work well under stressful situations
• Must be available to travel to other locations to meet operational needs
• Bi-Lingual a plus (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and evaluate dental care for patients based on individual, specific patient needs and according to dentist’s orders.
• Prepares patient for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and draping patient.
• Provides diagnostic information by taking all radiographs and quantity of radiographs deemed medically necessary by the clinical judgement of the treating dentist.
• Provides instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments to treatment area; positioning instruments for dentist's access; suctioning; passing instruments using four-handed dentistry.
• Maintain appropriate certifications and/or licensures.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by management.

Job description

Pay: $20 - $23.05

Location: Wilmington, DE

Schedule: Monday 8:00am - 3:00pm, Tuesday - Thursday 8:00am - 5:00pm and Friday as needed

Children's Dental Health is seeking a passionate X-ray certified Dental Assistant to join our close-knit team in providing top-notch dental care to our patients.

As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our patients feel comfortable and receive the highest quality dental care possible. You will assist the dentist during procedures, prepare and sterilize instruments, take X-rays, maintain patient records, and provide exceptional patient care. The ideal assistant for our team has a calm disposition and a talent for building rapport with young patients, who may be scared or anxious.

Preferred, But Not Required

• Knowledge of electronic dental records and practice management systems, specifically Denticon.
• Bi-Lingual a plus
