Job summary

North American Dental Group is seeking a part-time Dental Assistant for Scatterfield Meadows Family Dental in Anderson, IN. You will support the team with chair-side procedures, patient prep, and sterilization, ensuring comfort and efficiency. The role requires dental assisting certification, radiography/X-ray certification, CPR, and proficiency with MS Office.

New graduates welcome; 1–5 years preferred. Schedule: Mon Tue Thu 8:30am–5:30pm.

Qualifications

  • Certification in dental assisting required.
  • 1–5 years of experience preferred; new graduates welcome.
  • Radiography/X-ray certification required.
  • CPR certification required.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver chair-side clinical support to dentists and hygienists.
  • Prepare patients for treatment and assist the dentist in procedures.
  • Maintain asepsis and sterilize instruments.
  • Record and review patient health histories and document under direction.
  • Expose and develop diagnostic radiographs.
  • Ensure OSHA, HIPAA and other certifications and safety requirements are met.

Your Work Schedule

Monday: 8:30am-5:30pm

Tuesday: 8:30am-5:30pm

Thursday: 8:30am-5:30pm

Your Role as a Dental Assistant

As a Dental Assistant, you'll collaborate with our practice team to provide outstanding clinical support, ensuring patients receive the care they need. You'll prepare patients for treatment, assist the dentist in restorative procedures, and maintain a high standard of care and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver exceptional chair-side clinical support to dentists and hygienists, including charting, operatory setup/cleanup, and patient education.
  • Record and review patient health histories, make chart entries under the dentist's direction, and ensure all documentation is complete.
  • Set up trays and instruments based on the daily schedule and procedure requirements.
  • Prepare patients, sterilize/disinfect instruments, and maintain asepsis following OSHA standards.
  • Assist with dental procedures, including exposing and developing diagnostic radiographs.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and other certifications and safety requirements.
What You'll Need to Succeed
  • Dental Assisting Certification or prior on-the-job training.
  • 1-5 years of experience preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply.
  • Radiography/X-Ray certification (state-specific).
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
