Job summary

Lawrenceville Dentistry is seeking a dental assistant to work chairside through restorative, surgical, and emergency days, setting up operatories, taking radiographs and impressions, and keeping the patient informed about what is happening and why.

Qualifications

• Dental assisting credential and radiography certification as required by Georgia.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.

• Chairside experience preferred; new grads interviewed well.

Responsibilities

• Set up and break down operatories, sterilize instruments, and have the tray ready before the doctor sits down.
• Assist chairside through restorative, surgical, and emergency procedures using four-handed technique.
• Take digital radiographs, intraoral photos, and impressions or digital scans as directed.
• Pour models, fabricate temporaries, and perform expanded functions permitted by your credentials.
• Give post-operative instructions in plain language and answer patients' questions.
• Maintain infection control, sterilization logs, and operatory stock to OSHA and CDC standards.

Job description

A good assistant makes the dentist faster and the patient calmer at the same time.

You will work chairside through restorative, surgical, and emergency days - setting up, taking radiographs and impressions, anticipating the next instrument before it is asked for, and keeping the person in the chair informed about what is happening and why.

We keep the operatories properly equipped and replace what slows you down, because an assistant fighting the equipment cannot look after the patient.

What you'll do

• Assist chairside through restorative, surgical, and emergency procedures using four-handed technique.

What we're looking for
