Job summary

SEARHC seeks a Dental Assistant Trainee in Wrangell, AK, to support dentists and team members in direct patient care and clinic operations. The role requires completing a dental assistant program or having 6 months of experience, plus BLS and radiology certifications within set timelines.

Responsibilities include preparing operatory, assisting chair-side, maintaining sterilization areas, and aiding in pediatric and orthodontic care as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire is required.
• Certificate of completion of Dental Assistant Training or 6 months of dental assistant experience required.
• Dental radiology certification within 3 months of hire is required.

Responsibilities

• Greet, seat and prepare patients for treatment.
• Assist dentists and other team members at chair-side using four-handed techniques.
• Maintain operatory, lab, sterilization areas and supply trays.
• Travel with providers to cover other clinics as needed.
• Provide infection control and radiographic procedures following policy.
