Job summary

Columbia Modern Dentistry in Maryland seeks a dental assistant-in-training to learn and perform basic dental assisting under the supervision of a licensed dentist. You will participate in patient care, infection control, and charting while ensuring the patient experience remains exceptional.

Responsibilities

• Learn and perform basic dental assisting functions under direct supervision of licensed dentist.
• Participate in Perfect Patient Experience by keeping patients focused on optimal treatment.
• Learn infection control procedures for sterilization and operatory cleaning/disinfection.
• Complete radiographs and intra-oral photographs after DAT requirements regarding radiation safety are met.
• Prepare for patient care procedures and provide basic chairside support.
• Instruct patients on postoperative and general oral health care as directed by the dentist.
• Record patient charting and treatment notes in the digital chart as directed.
• Support patient care by presenting treatment records, consents and health history to the dentist.
• Maintain compliance with State, Federal, and other regulations (OSHA, HIPAA, ADA, etc.).
