Job summary
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in Lincoln, NE is seeking a Dental Assistant to support the dentist in direct patient care and perform additional clinical and clerical duties under direct supervision.
The ideal candidate will have familiarity with infection control, radiographic imaging, and chairside assistance. VA benefits include health and retirement plans, paid time off, and federal employment stability. Prior CODA-accredited training and radiology certification are highly regarded.
Qualifications
- Citizenship and English proficiency requirements.
- Six months experience or education equivalent.
- CODA-accredited dental assistant program required.
- Radiographic competence certification required.
- VA qualification standards and physical demands compliance.
Responsibilities
- Set up operatory and prepare dental units.
- Receive and prepare patients for treatment.
- Disinfect and sterilize instruments.
- Prepare procedural trays and armamentaria.
- Assist dentist at chairside under direct supervision.
- Process and mount dental radiographs; manage imaging records.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
