Western Mass Periodontics & Implant Specialists is seeking a Full-Time Dental Assistant to join our specialty practice in Pittsfield, MA. No previous periodontal experience required; paid training will help you advance into specialty dentistry.

You will assist with implants, grafting, and advanced procedures while delivering excellent patient care. You’ll work a consistent Monday–Friday schedule, with comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for long-term growth within Affinity Dental

Qualifications

• Dental assisting experience preferred.
• Periodontal, implant, OS, endodontic, or other surgical assisting experience is a plus.
• Willingness to obtain applicable credentials (e.g., radiography, CPR).
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Provide chairside assistance during periodontal and implant procedures.
• Prepare patients, operatories, instruments, and materials for treatment.
• Support providers to maintain efficient surgical flow.
• Take and process digital x-rays and assist with imaging.
• Follow sterilization, infection-control, OSHA, biohazard, and safety protocols.
• Communicate with patients to ensure comfort and understanding.

Your Role as a Dental Assistant

• Provide chairside assistance during periodontal, implant, grafting, surgical, and non-surgical procedures
• Prepare patients, operatories, instruments, materials, and equipment for treatment
• Support providers throughout procedures by anticipating clinical needs and maintaining efficient surgical flow
• Take and process diagnostic-quality digital x-rays and assist with imaging
• Follow sterilization, infection-control, OSHA, biohazard, and surgical safety protocols
• Help patients feel comfortable and informed before, during, and after treatment
• Review pre- and post-operative instructions with patients
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and treatment-ready operatories
• Maintain instruments, equipment, clinical supplies, and surgical inventory
• Collaborate with providers and the clinical team to deliver an organized, efficient, and exceptional patient experience

What We’re Looking For

• Previous DA experience preferred
• Previous periodontal, implant, OS, endodontic, prosthodontic, or other surgical assisting experience is a plus - not a requirement
• Interest in learning specialty and surgical assisting
• Dental assisting education or certification preferred
• Radiography certification and current CPR certification preferred, or willingness to obtain applicable credentials
• Familiarity with chairside assisting, sterilization, infection control, and clinical safety protocols
• Strong communication, organization, and patient-care skillsDependable, professional, detail-oriented, and eager to learn
• Calm and compassionate when supporting patients undergoing advanced treatment
• High school diploma or equivalent required
