Job summary

SALT Dental Partners in Silver Spring, Maryland is seeking a passionate Pediatric Dental Assistant to provide exceptional care to a diverse patient population. Responsibilities include engaging with patients, assisting during treatments, and maintaining a sterile environment.

Qualifications

  • Six months of practical experience as a pediatric dental assistant.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Be organized with a superior knowledge of dentistry.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and engage patients with respect and a smile.
  • Ensure patients are comfortable regarding their treatment and oral health.
  • Take and process dental radiographs, impressions, and photos.
  • Prepare and sterilize treatment room and equipment.
  • Provide chair-side assistance to Providers during treatments.
  • Document dental care services by charting in patients’ records.
  • Maintain a clean and sterile working environment.

Education

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the following:

  • Greet and engage patients with respect and a smile.
  • Ensure patients are well informed and comfortable before, during, and after their appointment about their treatment and oral health.
  • Take and process dental radiographs, impressions and intraoral photos.
  • Prepare and sterilize treatment room and equipment.
  • Provide chair-side assistance to Providers during treatment procedures.
  • Document dental care services by charting in patients’ records.
  • Maintain a clean, sterile, and patient-centric working environment.
Qualifications

You will be required to possess the following:

  • Six (6) or more months of practical experience as a pediatric dental assistant.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
  • Completion of a CODA-accredited dental assisting program (Preferred).
  • Quick learner with problem solving skills.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Technical and troubleshooting skills for software applications used for charting, patient records, scheduling, etc.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the desire for professional growth.
  • Be organized and possess a superior knowledge of dentistry and dental terminology.
