Job summary

NorthLakes Community Clinic is seeking a Dental Assistant to support dentists by preparing patients, taking digital x-rays, and assisting during procedures. The role includes sterilization, impression work, and preventive care such as fluoride varnish, all while following scope of practice, OSHA and patient confidentiality standards.

The position requires a one-year certificate or equivalent experience, CPR, and a current DANB certification.

Qualifications

• One year certificate from college or technical school; or three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Current dental assisting certification with DANB required; three or more months related experience or training preferred.
• CPR certification required for all roles; credentialing preferred within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Receive and prepare patient for treatment.
• Take digital dental x-rays to aid diagnosis.
• Chart conditions of decay and disease for dentist review.
• Place fluoride varnish for prevention.
• Sterilize and disinfect instruments; set up trays; assist during procedures.
• Pour and trim study casts; fabricate preliminary impressions and temporary crowns.
• Understand OSHA and infection control standards and insurance guidelines.
