Job summary

Main Street Children\'s Dentistry and Orthodontics in Forest Hill, MD is seeking a Dental Assistant for a part-time role. You will support clinicians, prep rooms, sterilize tools, take X-rays, and educate patients on oral hygiene.

The team values patient-centered care and teamwork. The ideal candidate completes a one-year dental assistant program, holds X-ray certification, and maintains OSHA/HIPAA/CPR training.

Qualifications

• Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program.
• X-Ray certification - Required.
• Nitrous Oxide certification is highly recommended.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Maintain OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control training as required by law.

Responsibilities

• Clinical Support: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
• Patient Care: Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Radiography & Diagnostics: Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake.
• Assist in dental emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drugs and oxygen supply.
