Mentor Smiles in Mentor, OH is seeking a dependable Dental Assistant for a part-time role. You will prepare treatment rooms, assist the dentist during examinations, and take dental X-rays in compliance with state regulations.

This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, dental assistant certification as required by state law, and strong communication skills. CPR/BLS and radiography certification are preferred; you will work Monday and Tuesday with some Saturdays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments before and after patient appointments.
• Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, including fillings, crowns, bridges, extractions, root canals, and other treatments.
• Take dental radiographs (X-rays) in accordance with state regulations.
• Set up and organize instruments, materials, and equipment needed for patient care.
• Review and update patient health histories and clinical records.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene, treatment recommendations, and post-operative care instructions.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient clinical environment.
• Follow OSHA, HIPAA, CDC, and infection control protocols.
• Stock operatories and monitor clinical supply inventory.
• Provide exceptional customer service and help ensure a positive patient experience.
• Assist with additional duties as assigned by the dentist or practice leadership.

Schedule

Part-Time Position

• Monday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
• Tuesday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
• Saturday: Hours to be determined based on practice needs
