Job summary

Armor Health seeks a Dental Assistant to join the team at Erie County Prison in Erie, PA. The position involves Friday shifts from 7:00am to 5:30pm, working with the Dentist to deliver comprehensive dental care in a correctional setting.

You will assist with radiography, chairside procedures, sterilization, patient scheduling, and charting using the POMR system, while ensuring OSHA compliance and inventory management.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Dental Assistant program with current state license/certification to practice.
• Current CPR certificate.
• At least one year experience as a Dental Assistant.
• Proficient with electronic medical records.
• Ability to pass pre-employment Level 2 clearance to include background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Under general supervision of a Dentist, provide clinical, administrative, and staff support in dental services.
• Assist Dentist with dental and radiography procedures.
• Provide chairside assistance during preventive and prosthetic procedures.
• Prepare, sterilize, organize, and set up dental equipment.
• Ensure instruments are cleaned, dated, and processed per clinic guidelines and OSHA standards; maintain the dental area cleanliness.
• Monitor and maintain radiographic developing equipment and sterilizers.
• Develop and process dental radiographs per provider orders.
• Assist in radiation safety procedures and protocols.
• Order and maintain inventories of dental clinic supplies.
• Interact with patients; schedule appointments and maintain dental charts.

Overview

Great outcomes start with great people and Armor has an exciting opportunity for a Dental Assistant to join our team at Erie County Prison in Erie, PA.

* The Dental Assistant will work every Friday with our Dentist. The hours are 7:00am 5:30pm (10 hour shifts) *

Responsibilities

• Under general supervision of a Dentist, provide a range of clinical, administrative, and staff services in assisting the professional dental staff
• Assist the Dentist in providing dental and radiography procedures
• Provide chairside assistance to dentists in the performance of dental procedures to include preventive and prosthetic procedures
• Prepare, sterilize, organize, and set up dental equipment
• Ensure all dental instruments are cleaned, dated, and processed according to established clinic guidelines and OSHA standards; and maintains the overall cleanliness of the dental area
• Monitor, and maintain dental equipment such as radiographic developing equipment, and sterilizers in accordance with manufacturer’s guidelines
• Develop and process dental radiographs in accordance with provider orders
• Assist in monitoring and maintenance of radiation safety procedures and protocols
• Order and maintain inventories of dental clinic supplies
• Interact with and process dental clinic patients; schedule appointments, maintain dental charts, record dental findings using the POMR charting format

Qualifications
