Base pay range

$15.00/hr - $18.00/hr

Job Summary

The dental assistant assists the dentist in the practice of four-handed dentistry and in the care of dental patients.

Job Duties
  1. Assist in four-handed TEAM dentistry: transfers instruments and supplies, keeps the operation site clean and dry.
  2. Perform intra-oral procedures such as taking impressions, placing periodontal dressings, exposing radiographs, performing toothbrush prophy, applying fluorides, selecting and placing matrix bands, fabricating temporary crowns, and placing gingival retraction cords.
  3. Cement and remove space maintainers, prepare patient schedules, confirm appointments, and coordinate specialty appointments.
  4. Perform operatory start-up and shut-down, guide patients, chart oral findings, sterilize instruments, maintain equipment, and order supplies.
  5. Take medical histories, prepare prosthetic cases, provide patient education, complete billing, and assist in care coordination.
  6. Address patient needs proactively, communicate effectively, participate in team care, maintain confidentiality, and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Dental Assisting Certification preferred.
