Job summary

Franklin Dental is seeking an efficient, compassionate Dental Assistant to join our high-volume Franklin, Ohio practice. You will provide four-handed chairside support, assist with dentures, radiography, and Medicaid documentation, and help keep operatory rooms turning over efficiently.

Qualified applicants must hold an Ohio Dental Assistant Radiographer Certificate, have 1–2 years of clinical experience (or strong recent graduates), and be comfortable in a fast-paced public health setting.

Qualifications

• Must possess Ohio Dental Assistant Radiographer Certificate or be obtaining it immediately.
• 1–2 years of hands-on dental assisting experience preferred; new grads considered.
• Experience in Medicaid or public health settings is a plus.
• Proficiency with Dentrix, Open Dental, or Eaglesoft preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide four-handed chairside assistance for general procedures such as restorations, extractions, root canals, and crown/bridge prep.
• Support denture workflows, including impressions, model pouring, bite rims, and adjustments.
• Capture digital X-rays (Bitewings, Periapicals, Panoramics) per Ohio laws and ALARA.
• Document Medicaid and cash workflows, explain treatment plans and costs to patients.
• Maintain sterilization and infection control per OSHA and Ohio State Dental Board standards.

What You Will Do (Key Responsibilities)

• Chairside Assistance: Provide seamless, high-quality four-handed dentistry assistance for a variety of general clinical procedures, including composite restorations, extractions, root canals, and crown/bridge preps.

• Prosthodontics & Dentures: Assist closely with our specialized denture workflows, including taking accurate alginate impressions, pouring up stone models, prepping bite rims, and assisting with clinical denture adjustments and relines.

• Radiography & Imaging: Safely capture clear digital diagnostic X-rays (Bitewings, Periapicals, and Panoramics) in strict compliance with Ohio state laws and ALARA safety guidelines.

• Medicaid & Cash Workflow Documentation: Ensure clinical notes and charting are detailed, accurate, and structured perfectly to satisfy Ohio Medicaid diagnostic guidelines for smooth claim pre-authorizations. Assist with transparently explaining treatment plans and out-of-pocket costs to our cash-pay patients.

• Sterilization & Compliance: Maintain absolute compliance with OSHA, CDC, and Ohio State Dental Board infection control standards. Sterilize instruments, track logs, and rapidly disinfect and restock operatory rooms to keep the clinic running on schedule.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Active License Required: Must possess a current and valid Ohio Dental Assistant Radiographer Certificate (or be highly motivated to obtain it immediately).

• Clinical Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years of hands-on dental assisting experience is preferred, though exceptional recent graduates from accredited dental assisting programs are encouraged to apply.

• The Right Mindset: Experience working in a high-volume public health, Medicaid, or corporate dental setting is a massive plus. You must be comfortable working on your feet and managing a steady daily flow of patients.
