Job summary

Cedar Walk Dentistry in Charlotte, NC is seeking a qualified Dental Assistant to join our team. You will prepare exam rooms, assist dentists during procedures, take and process X-rays, and help maintain patient records with a friendly, professional manner.

Requirements include completion of a certified dental assistant training program, radiographic certification, and 18 months of clinical experience. We offer a competitive hourly rate, paid vacation, 401k with match, and comprehensive benefits.

Job Responsibilities:

• Preparing exam rooms, sterilizing instruments, and ensuring necessary equipment is ready for dentists
• Knowledge of general anatomy of the mouth and dental terms
• Understanding of crowns, fillings, extractions, root canals and implants
• Assisting dentists during procedures by handing them instruments and anticipating needs
• Taking and processing X-rays of patients
• Perform lab tasks as instructed
• Greeting patients as they arrive and scheduling appointments
• Advising patients on recommended oral hygiene
• Maintaining accurate patient records and assist with payment procedures
• Strong communications skills required to deliver oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
• Handling general administrative and other duties to maintain the dental practice

Qualifications:

• Education:Completion of a certified dental assistant training program required. Radiographic certification required. Coronal Polishing is a plus, but not required.
• Skills and Experience:18 months or more of clinical experience as a dental assistant required.
• Outstanding professionalism, high moral standards, and a self-motivated work ethic
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build trusting relationships with your co-workers and patients
