Smile Starters is a general dental practice serving ages 1 through 20. We focus on educating young patients for long-term dental health, which is rewarding for our Hygienists, Assistants, and Dentists. Many of our former patients now bring their children to see us!

Responsibilities
  • Welcome patients and prepare them for treatments, ensuring comfort
  • Set up instruments, equipment, and materials needed for procedures
  • Sterilize instruments according to regulations
  • Assist the dentist with four-handed dentistry
  • Undertake lab tasks as instructed
  • Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
  • Maintain a clean and stocked dental room
  • Schedule appointments and maintain patient records
  • Assist with payment procedures and perform other duties as needed
Skills
  • Proven experience as a dental assistant
  • Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations
  • Ability to perform tasks like coronal polishing (a plus)
  • Good computer skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail and organization
  • Ability to handle a busy workday
  • Additional certifications (e.g., DAN-B) are assets
  • Bilingual skills are a plus
Requirements
