Job summary

PDS Health in Wichita, KS is seeking a dental assistant trainee to join our team. Learn basic dental assisting under the direct supervision of a licensed dentist and gain hands-on experience.

No prior dental experience is required; customer service experience is a plus. We offer medical, dental and vision insurance, CE units, paid time off, tuition reimbursement, 401K, and weekend shift premiums where applicable.

Qualifications

• Customer services experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Learn and perform basic dental assisting functions under direct supervision of the licensed dentist.
• Attain Perfect Patient Experience by focusing on patients' needs and concerns.
• Learn infection control procedures for sterilization and operatory cleaning to ensure safety.
• Complete radiographs and intra-oral pictures after radiation safety requirements are met.
• Prepare for patient care procedures and provide chairside support and handoff to front desk for follow-up.
• Instruct patients on postoperative and general oral health care as directed by the dentist.
• Record patient charting and treatment notes in the digital chart as directed by the dentist.
• Present treatment records, consents and health history to the dentist prior to treatment.
• Maintain compliance with State, Federal, and other regulations (OSHA, HIPAA, ADA, etc.).
