Job summary

PDS Health in Texas is seeking a dental assistant to learn and perform basic assisting duties under the supervision of a licensed dentist. You will participate in patient care, infection control, radiographs, and charting while ensuring safety and compliance with regulations.

No prior dental experience is required, and customer service experience is preferred. This role offers medical, dental, and vision insurance, CE units, PTO, tuition reimbursement, child care assistance, a 401K, volunteer

Responsibilities

• Learn and perform basic dental assisting functions under the direct supervision of the licensed dentist.
• Actively participate in the Perfect Patient Experience by keeping patients focused on optimal treatment while attending to their individual needs and concerns.
• Learn infection control procedures for sterilization and operatory cleaning to ensure safety of patients and team members.
• Complete radiographs and intra-oral pictures after the DAT has completed all state radiation safety requirements.
• Prepare for patient care procedures and provide chairside support, then hand off to front desk for follow-up appointment.
• Instruct patients on postoperative and general oral health care as directed by the dentist.
• Record patient charting and treatment notes in the digital patient chart as directed by the dentist.
• Present treatment records, consents and health history to the dentist prior to patient treatment.
• Maintain compliance with State, Federal, and other regulations (OSHA, HIPAA, ADA, etc).
