Job summary

Wilmington Kids Dental is seeking a full-time Dental Assistant for our Wilmington office. We are a friendly team passionate about helping children and making a positive impact in the community.

The role includes chair-side support, radiographs, instrument sterilization, impressions, patient education, and assisting with procedures. Certification as a Dental Assistant is required, with CDA/RDA and X-ray credentials preferred.

Qualifications

• Certification as a Dental Assistant is required.
• CDA or RDA credentials are preferred.
• X-ray certification is required; sealant polishing & nitrous certification is a plus.
• No prior experience is required beyond having a Dental Assistant certification.

Responsibilities

• Work chair-side with dentists, perform patient care and general laboratory duties.
• Take and process dental radiographs (x-rays).
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment.
• Take impressions of teeth (models), perform extractions and fillings.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and nutrition.
• Record medical history and monitor blood pressure and pulse.
• Help patients feel comfortable before, during and after treatment.
• Provide post-treatment care instructions to patients.
