Job summary

Community Health Centers seeks a Dental Assistant to support patient care in our Florida clinics. You will verify patients, document chief complaints, prepare for treatment, and assist dentists with procedures, including taking and developing radiographs.

Expanded functions are performed per Florida Board guidelines. You may travel to other CHC locations as needed; a high school diploma and EFDA certification within 12 months are required, with BLS within 30 days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Dental Assistant diploma or certificate including dental radiology required.
• EFDA certification within 12 months from date of hire.
• 2 years’ dental setting experience preferred.
• Ability to use computer software and electronic health record systems.
• Current BLS certification within 30 days from date of hire.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient identity and document chief complaint.
• Screen and prepare patients for treatment; educate patients.
• Assist dentist during procedures and take/develop radiographs.
• Perform Expanded Functions per Florida Board of Dentistry (FAC 64B5-16.005).
• May travel to other CHC locations as needed, and perform other duties as assigned.
