Qualifications

• One year of specialized experience which includes performing intra-oral procedures, taking preliminary impressions, operating dental x-ray equipment, and charting.

Responsibilities

• Perform intra-oral procedures as directed by dentist.
• Take preliminary dental impressions for study models.
• Operate dental radiographic equipment to capture diagnostic images.
• Receive and schedule patients for treatment.
• Prepare and arrange all instruments and materials needed for each treatment.
• Sterilize dental instruments, materials, and equipment using approved infection-control protocols to ensure compliance with clinical safety standards.
• Take and record blood pressure and pulse of oral surgery patients before and after treatment.
• Aid in the training of trainee dental assistants and students.
• Prepares surgical trays by arranging sterilized instruments and supplies according to procedure-specific requirements.
• Removes sutures in accordance with clinical provider instructions to support postoperative healing assessments.
• Places and removes rubber dams to isolate teeth and maintain a controlled operative environment.
