Job summary

Paycom in Cary, NC is seeking a Dental Assistant II to support the dentist in pediatric care and to prepare treatment plans for patients. You will schedule appointments and help manage instruments, supplies, and charting while maintaining patient comfort and safety.

The role requires DAII training or equivalent, CDA or radiology certification, CPR readiness, and experience in pediatric dentistry. Eaglesoft or Denticon knowledge is a plus, with dependable attendance.

Qualifications

  • DAII training or equivalent.
  • 2–5 years of Dental Assistant experience, ideally pediatric.
  • CDA certification, or radiology equivalence, or CODA-accredited program.
  • CPR certification, or will become CPR certified within 30 days of hire.
  • Ability to present clinical information on treatment plans and insurance to patients.
  • Knowledge of Eaglesoft and/or Denticon is a plus.
  • Regular and timely attendance.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the dentist in providing dental treatment.
  • Act as treatment coordinator and present treatment plans to patients.
  • Schedule patient appointments to accommodate potential obstacles.
  • Maintain dental instruments, supplies, and equipment.
  • Collect and record patient health histories.
  • Assist with patient management during dental procedures.
  • Complete instrument cleaning, sterilization, and post-op sanitization of treatment rooms.
  • Prepare dental materials and equipment for scheduled treatment.
  • Complete dental charting.
  • Manage inventory and other ancillary duties.

Dental Assistant II Key Competencies

  • Assists the dentist in providing dental treatment
  • Functions as a treatment coordinator and prepares and presents treatment plan to patients
  • Schedules patient appointment to accommodate potential obstacles

  • Achieved CDA certification, or completed radiological equivalency exam through NC State Board of Dental Examiners, or completed CODA-accredited dental assisting program
  • CPR certified, or will become CPR certified within 30 days of hire
  • Ability to professionally present clinical information regarding treatment plans and insurance information to patients
  • Knowledge of Eaglesoft and/or Denticon software a plusRegular and timely attendance
