Minimum Requirements

High school diploma or GED, two or more years of dental assisting experience, one year of surgical assisting experience and/or EDDA or EFDA certification, radiology certification, CPR certification. Additional certifications may be required based on dental specialty. Grade 3 (Hourly).

Position Description

This position works chairside with residents in our Graduate Oral Surgery clinic, performing various dental and surgical procedures at UofL Health Jackson Street Outpatient Center.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Work with faculty, peers, and supervisors to deliver patient-centered care in our Grad Oral Surgery and Hospital Dentistry clinics.
2. Serve as chairside assistant to residents in the operating room with four-handed, sedated, comprehensive dentistry.
3. Stock, prepare, organize, and clean operatories and laboratories.
4. Capture radiographs: periapical, bitewings, panoramic, CBCT.
5. Sterilize instruments following infection control procedures.
6. Maintain and order supplies as needed.
7. Greet and seat patients.
8. Maintain HIPAA, OSHA, and infection control compliance.
9. Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 years of oral surgery experience.
• Experience with four types of radiographs.

Compensation

Range: $18.56 - $27.85 per hour. Compensation depends on experience.
