We are recruiting for a motivated Dental Assistant II - OMC Dental Clinic to join our team!

Job Summary

The Dental Assistant II, under direct supervision, provides sub-professional dental work assisting dental providers in the care and treatment of dental patients. Demonstrates strong knowledge of dental procedures. Able to anticipate and adapt to changes in the dental clinic schedule autonomously. Proficient in supporting all preventative, comprehensive, specialty, and advanced dental procedures. Maintains the environment of care, manages daily schedules, and performs clinical supportive functions. Supports and travels to all Denver Health dental clinics as needed. At the chairside level, assists at the dental chair, acquires quality radiographic images and diagnostic material, records and tracks patient data, communicates effectively, and performs infection control practices. Promotes positive and professional interpersonal relationships and supports the team concept.

Essential Functions
  1. Clinic Level: Maintains environment of care, manages supplies, reviews daily schedules, supports front office staff. (40%)
  2. Chair Side Level: Demonstrates knowledge of dental procedures, assists with patient care, acquires radiographs, maintains infection control, follows safety regulations, and supports patient needs. (50%)
  3. Employee Level: Demonstrates teamwork, promotes positive relationships, and treats individuals with courtesy and respect. (10%)
Education
  • No High School Diploma or GED required.
Work Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of chairside assistance experience required.
Licenses
  • BLS (American Heart Association) required.
  • CDA (Dental Assisting National Board) required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of dental materials, record maintenance, safety guidelines.
  • Skill in instrument handling, patient communication, and following instructions.
  • Calm, positive chairside manner and teamwork skills.
