Job summary

MAHEC's Center for Dentistry and Oral Health in Asheville is seeking a level I or II Dental Assistant. Under dentist supervision, you will prepare patients, assist during procedures, sterilize equipment, take and develop x-rays, and maintain patient records.

Responsibilities

• Under the direct control and supervision of a dentist, prepare the patient and the dentist for oral procedures.
• Take impressions for study models and opposing casts which may be used for the fabrication of adjustable orthodontic appliances.
• Pour up study models.
• Apply sealants to teeth after examination and prescription.
• Insert matrix bands and wedges; place cavity bases and liners.
• Place or remove rubber dams; cement temporary restorations; apply etch, bonding agents; remove periodontal dressings and sutures.
