Job summary

Sea Mar Community Health Centers seeks a Dental Assistant I to support the dental team in delivering patient care across preventive, diagnostic, restorative, and other dental services. This role requires chairside assistance, patient management, and adherence to infection control protocols.

You will assist with scheduling, charting, vital signs, and maintaining supplies. Must have a DA program completion, WA DOH registration, and BLS CPR within 90 days; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Completed a formal Dental Assistant program at a College/Institute.
• Minimum of 6 months of work experience; 18 months if no formal training.
• All Dental Assistants must be registered with the Washington State Department of Health.
• This position must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR within 90 days of hire and maintain it.

Responsibilities

• Provide four-handed chairside assistance using Dentrix protocol.
• Escort patients to and from treatment rooms; greet and be professional.
• Communicate provider delays to front desk and patients.
• Perform charting in Dentrix using SOAP/PARTS.
• Obtain accurate blood pressure and vital signs.
• Maintain proper sterilization methods and OSHA regulations.
• Assist in inventory and ordering of dental supplies.
• Coordinate training of new employees/dental trainees.
