Description

Are you a skilled and compassionate Registered Dental Assistant looking to make a meaningful impact? Jamestown Family Dental Clinic (JFDC) is seeking a dedicated Dental Assistant II to join our close-knit team. This is a part-time position, working 24 hours a week, Monday through Wednesday.Our mission is to enhance the oral health status of our patients, and we're looking for someone who shares that commitment.

At JFDC, you'll work in a strong team environment, upholding the highest health standards of the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe. This isn't just about assisting; it's about being an integral part of providing exceptional patient care and ensuring our clinic runs smoothly and efficiently.

What You'll Do:

As a Dental Assistant II, you'll be a vital part of our patient's journey to better oral health. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Patient Care & Support:

    • Set up operatory, greet, seat, and prepare patients for their appointments, ensuring all demographic and medical history information is accurate.

    • Provide essential chairside assistance during examinations and procedures, expertly passing instruments and materials, and managing suction/retraction.

    • Perform procedures like coronal polishing, taking study model impressions, fabricating and cementing temporary crowns, and placing/removing rubber dams.

    • Provide oral hygiene instructions, routine prophylaxis, and topical fluoride treatments as assigned.

    • Triage emergency patients, reporting findings to the dentist and scheduling as needed.

  • Clinic Operations & Maintenance:

    • Maintain pristine dental operatories, including lab and sterilization areas, ensuring they are always clean, orderly, and sterile with weekly deep cleaning.

    • Clean, package, sterilize, and properly store all dental equipment and instruments following current infection control guidelines.

    • Assist with tracking inventory and purchasing supplies and equipment.

    • Support reception staff as needed to ensure smooth patient flow.

  • Administrative & Technical:

    • Accurately record and scan all treatment rendered and planned findings into the patient’s electronic dental records using Eaglesoft.

    • Complete dental laboratory work orders, preparing cases for outside labs, checking them in, and scheduling patient delivery appointments.

    • Skillfully expose and manipulate digital intraoral and panoramic radiographs.

    • Perform lab work such as pouring and trimming models.

    • Maintain strict patient confidentiality at all times.

    • Adhere to all JST and JFDC policies and procedures, including safety, PPE, and HIPAA standards.

What You'll Bring:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Washington State Registered Dental Assistant accreditation.

  • One (1) year of experience as a Registered Dental Assistant.

  • Willingness to pursue ongoing continuing education.

  • BLS Certification.

  • Basic computer proficiency with the ability to quickly learn dental office scheduling, electronic charting software (Eaglesoft), and other relevant programs.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and clear, effective communication (verbal and written).

  • Ability to travel locally and regionally as assigned.

  • Successful completion of a criminal background investigation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • American Indian/Alaska Native preferences apply.
