Salary Range: $20.22 - $26.28 Hourly
Description

Join the Jamestown Healing Clinic (JHC) and make a difference in the oral health of our patients! We are seeking a Per-Diem Dental Assistant II (DA II) to join our integrated care team (primary care, dental, behavioral health, and opiate treatment). As a key member of the team, the DA II provides skilled chairside assistance, maintains patient records, manages lab work, and performs digital radiography. Under the direction of the Oral Health Director or Dental Assistant Lead, you will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive patient care. This is a great opportunity for those seeking flexible, as-needed work.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing chairside assistance during dental procedures
  • Applying coronal polish, taking impressions, fabricating temporary crowns, and placing/removing rubber dams
  • Maintaining a sterile and organized dental operatory
  • Sterilizing and storing dental instruments
  • Triaging dental emergencies
  • Providing oral hygiene instruction, prophylaxis, and fluoride treatments
  • Coordinating patient care with other departments
  • Assisting with scheduling, inventory, and supply management
  • Accurately documenting treatment in electronic dental records
  • Managing dental lab work orders
  • Exposing and manipulating digital radiographs

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) certification
  • One (1) year of RDA experience
  • Cultural sensitivity and understanding of diverse patient populations
  • Knowledge of confidentiality regulations (RCW, WAC, 42 CFR part 2)
  • BLS Certification
  • Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHRs)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally/regionally
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check
