Qualifications

As a Dental Assistant II, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the clinic by coordinating the efforts of volunteers, communicating effectively with dental professionals, and facilitating volunteer training. Additionally, this position is vital in providing care to patients who are in pain or feeling uncomfortable in a dental clinic and will require a compassion and organization with excellent interpersonal skills and a strong commitment to the Mission's Christian values.

Scheduled: Monday – Friday; 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.

Location: Downtown Seattle

Target starting Pay: $27.42

How you will serve

  • Ensure a safe and clean working environment by following established procedures and regulations with procedures and regulations.
  • Prepares patients for dental treatment by welcoming them, providing comfort, and ensuring they are comfortably seated.
  • Delivers valuable information to patients and volunteers by actively addressing their questions and requests.
  • Pay close attention to detail by anticipating the Dentist’s needs
  • Assists chairside as needed and produces high-quality digital radiographs.
  • Educate patients by providing clear postoperative instructions, outlining medication requirements, and detailing follow-up care.
  • Ensure attentiveness to patients’ behavior
  • Familiarity with Eaglesoft or similar dental software is required. Maintain and update patient and clinic records in Eaglesoft software, including data entry for SOAP notes.
  • Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor.

How you qualify

  • Acknowledge and sign the Mission's Statement of Faith(see below).
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Graduate of an accredited Dental Assistant program.
  • 3- 5 years of experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred.
  • Washington State Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) certification, or Certified Dental Assistant Certification (CDA).
  • Obtain valid Bloodborne pathogens training and CPR/First Aid Certification.
  • Proficient computer skills with prior experience working with software like Eaglesoft dental software.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for long periods of time in a temperature-controlled environment. Occasionally you will stand, balance, twist, stoop, kneel and reach with hands/arms. Occasionally lifts up to 20 pounds and walks, use stairways to climb to multiple floors within the company. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
