Job summary

Guardian Dentistry Partners in Rocky Mount, NC, is seeking a qualified Dental Assistant to support dentists, prepare rooms, take X-rays, and help with patient care. The role requires radiographic certification and at least 18 months of clinical experience.

You will greet patients, educate on oral hygiene, maintain records, and assist with payments, while working under a collaborative team environment with competitive compensation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms, sterilize instruments, and ensure equipment is ready for dentists.

• Greet patients and schedule appointments.
• Advise patients on oral hygiene and maintain patient records.
• Assist with payments and handle general administrative duties.
• Communicate clearly to explain post-operative care instructions.

Job Responsibilities

• Preparing exam rooms, sterilizing instruments, and ensuring necessary equipment is ready for dentists
• Knowledge of general anatomy of the mouth and dental terms
• Understanding of crowns, fillings, extractions, root canals and implants
• Assisting dentists during procedures by handing them instruments and anticipating needs
• Taking and processing X-rays of patients
• Perform lab tasks as instructed
• Greeting patients as they arrive and scheduling appointments
• Advising patients on recommended oral hygiene
• Maintaining accurate patient records and assist with payment procedures
• Strong communications skills required to deliver oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
• Handling general administrative and other duties to maintain the dental practice

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year Experience Required
• Education: Completion of a certified dental assistant training program required. Radiographic certification required. Coronal Polishing is a plus, but not required.
• Skills and Experience: 18 months or more of clinical experience as a dental assistant required.
• Outstanding professionalism, high moral standards, and a self-motivated work ethic
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build trusting relationships with your co-workers and patients
