Scope and Responsibilities

The primary duty of the Dental Assistant II is to assist in the overall delivery of care and to be an integral part of the patient care team by consistently delivering the most memorable and fun service experience possible for every patient, every day in every office.

Position Description

Reports To: Practice Manager

Position Status: Non-exempt

Specific Responsibilities

• Prepare office with daily opening and closing duties.
• Prepare treatment area for patient by following procedures and protocols.
• Welcome, comfort, and seat patients.
• Assist doctors during treatment procedures.
• Perform dental infection control procedures.
• Take x-rays.
• Perform cleanings.
• Handle lab-related procedures.
• Assist at check-out and complete care calls and thank you cards.
• Manage and control supply inventory.
• Document dental care services in patient records.
• Maintain compliance with laws and regulations (HIPAA, OSHA, ADA, Dental Board).
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
