Job summary

The University of Florida College of Dentistry seeks Dental Assistant I or II to provide chairside support and administrative help, contributing to high-quality student education and patient care. Each assistant is assigned to a two‑TEAMS Clinical Care Group, delivering patient-centered service in a 22-chair clinic.

Applicants should have strong chairside skills, proficiency with Outlook, axiUm, Excel and Microsoft Office, plus good interpersonal abilities.

Qualifications

• Dental Assistants I/II must have a high school diploma and BLS certification with experience for I or more years for II.
• EFDA certification is required for Dental Assistant II per Florida rules.

Responsibilities

• Assist clinical staff in maintaining optimal operation of clinical equipment.
• Collaborate with Dental Maintenance to prepare clinics for daily student use.
• Conduct daily clinic surveillance to ensure infection prevention standards are met and deficiencies are corrected.
• Maintain daily student attendance records and serve as information resource at the emergency rally point.
• Assist with student orientation to the clinical curriculum and assess infection prevention practices.
• Provide four‑hand dentistry support to students and radiographic exposure as needed.
