Job summary

Responsibilities

• Assist dental provider and hygienists in delivering dental services.
• Perform routine radiographic imaging as required by the AZ Radiation Health and Safety (RHS)Certificate.
• Record treatment, code charges, prepare treatment plans on dental charts, and enter progress notes in the patient file.
• Relay treatment information, instructions, directions and consent to patients, parents or guardians as directed by dentists/hygienists.
• Prepare and maintain all dental trays and instruments.
• Complete Instrument Processing: Level 2 Competency.
• Maintain sterilization, cleanliness and inventory of dental equipment.
• Pickup, deliver and communicate regarding the status of dental laboratory cases.
• Collaborate with dental back office and front office teams to ensure quality patient care.
• Travel to other Mountain Park locations as assigned.

Description

This position is responsible for performing procedures allowable according to Arizona State Dental Laws and assisting the dental provider in providing dental care to patients. The Dental Assistant position ensures the proper sterilization of equipment for dental provider use and provides patients information regarding treatment, scheduling, and insurance authorization.

Essential Functions

• Assists dental provider and hygienists in the delivery of dental related services.
• Performs routine radiographic imaging as required by the AZ Radiation Health and Safety (RHS) Certificate.
• Provides historical reference by accurately and efficiently recording treatment, accurately coding charges for services, preparing treatment plans on dental charts, and entering progress notes/treatment plans in patient’s file.
• Provides information to patients by relaying information, instructions, directions and/or consent, to patients, parents, or guardian, regarding treatment, at the direction of the dentists and hygienists. Instructs patients and parents in oral hygiene and accurately communicates treatment plans and fees to patients.
• Prepares and maintains all dental trays and instruments.
• Completes the Instrument Processing: Level 2 Competency.
• Upkeeps the sterilization/cleanliness and inventory of dental equipment.
• Picks up, delivers, and communicates regarding the status of dental laboratory cases.
• Collaborates with dental back office and front office team members to ensure quality patient care.
• Travels to other Mountain Park locations as assigned, which may include a location change during shift to support patient care as organizational needs require.
• Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
• Performs Other duties as required.

Position Qualifications
